Blog Focus

This blog will be designed to create discussion about what is important to us as women and mothers and hopefully create good feedback to those of us who are inventors and entrepreneurs. Stories on this blog will include introductions to products created by Geneva Girls Designs, but not exclusively. It is our hope to focus on becoming better informed consumers and understanding the likes and dislikes of women in the marketplace. For some it may offer resources for "resourceful" women on starting your own business, understanding how to take your product from an idea to the market, and learn about networks or organizations who can provide support along the way.

Although I am a person who is more than likely above average in systems technology skills, as a business owner I am finding myself learning something new almost every day, which by the way is a goal of mine. Recently I've spent time learning about:
  • Writing a Business Plan
  • Doing Market Research
  • Setting Up a Website (if you need support, let me know I love to give referrals).
  • Selling in the 21st Century
  • Setting Up A Marketing Plan
  • Networking (Business, Social, Causes)
  • Setting Up Advertisement Pages
  • Driving Traffic to Websites through SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  • Checking Results (Google Analytics)
  • Setting Up Online Stores,
  • Creating Store Policies,
  • Writing a Personal Profile,
  • Learning About Product Photography and Writing Benefit Driven Product Descriptions,
  • Learning about Branding and Style
  • Locating Manufacturing Resources
  • Learning about Trends

It is almost hard to believe that setting up a small business requires such diverse knowledge, but it is very stimulating to find resources that provide opportunities for personal growth at my age! One of my aspirations as a mother is to encourage my daughter(s) to strive for knowledge so hopefully I can continue to lead by example.
